Problem to be solved:

There was no existing hub on vans.com for all things snow related, where seasonal product lives on and on throughout the year. This page needed to be created and dynamically updated so it didn’t turn stagnant when the season hit a road block and summer began.

My Approach:

Pulling in creative and art direction from the seasonal primary product, I wanted this page to feel fresh, be easy to filter products on, be shopable, and look fun. I also wanted this page to pull in content dynamically from our social feed and be able to host a carousel video slider with events (if current).

My Role

This project came from the need for a shoppable hub for Vans Snow products. Specifically, snowboard boots. I worked on wireframing the UX/UI initially. Went through several iterations here. Worked closely with the ECD of action sports to nail down the visual hierarchy and landed here. Main objectives were ease of use, mobile first, shoppable, information driven, brand reinforcement.

Results

Previously non-existent, the result was a tremendous success giving Vans a flexible, visually immersive hub that reinforced the brand’s credibility in snow while keeping the community engaged long after the snow melted.
