Problem to be solved:
To encourage engagement on Vans.com and to continually reinforce the VANS brand as being fun.
My Approach:
This is the second in a series of VANS annual holiday video games I Art Directed and developed the gameplay and design direction for. The game itself is a classic side scroller that has a villain and a hero. The overall premise was to catch as many shoes as possible before they hit the ground to prevent the VANS factory from freezing over. I worked with Los Angeles artist Josh Freydkis to develop the look and feel and all characters.
My Role
Building off of the success of the prior years WAFFLIN’ game I created, this was a follow up to that. Again, I did the majority of all creative and art direction, wrote and recorded all sound design and theme songs, video game elements, worked with artists to develop a look and feel, etc.
